Defining Apartment Refrigerators

Posted by GuestPoster on April 26, 2011 in Home with No Comments

Frost free functions, integrated crispers, glass spill-proof shelves – these are just some of the features that you can find in a typical design of an apartment refrigerator.  In this light, what makes an apartment refrigerator different from other refrigerator styles? You must be wondering what makes apartment refrigerators a separate niche market for refrigerator buyers.  In the first place, how do you define an apartment refrigerator?

An apartment refrigerator is bigger than a mini fridge but smaller than the standard models of refrigerators.  Roughly the size of midsize compact fridges, apartment fridges may have a range of 7 to 16 cu. ft. when it comes to storage capacity although in some refrigerator brands this range may vary.  There’s no formal definition for apartment fridges except that they seem fitting choices for apartments.  Other than that, it’s a different ball game for other refrigerator brands.

For instance, the Avanti apartment refrigerator has a storage capacity of 7.5 cu ft. that is perfect for a compact sized kitchen.  It features a 2-door top-freezer design, with 4 door bins, 3 wire shelves and a crisper for fruits and vegetables.  Compare this to the apartment-sized version of a Frigidaire refrigerator and you can have a discrepancy in storage capacity.  A Frigidaire apartment fridge can hold up to 10 cu. ft and is much bigger in terms of size and dimension.  It features 2 crispers, 2 adjustable door bins and 2 full-width freezer compartments.

To tell you the truth, an apartment refrigerator is not as complex as others might have thought.  It’s just another design of refrigerator based on technical dimensions and limited range of storage capacity.  Literally speaking, an apartment fridge is a fridge precisely made for the apartment, condo unit, or any other rented space that’s more spacious than average rented rooms.  Apartment fridges are highly recommended for groups of threes – meaning, a midsize family that has two to three persons involved.  Like any other fridge style, price differs according to brand.
